Project Sustainability

The core reason to implement the project through participation of the community was to ensure that the knowledge remain in the community itself. This was primarily achieved with optimum participation of school management committee, teachers, community andstudents of the community. Their participation in the overall delivery and management of the program ensured that the project has successfully delivered the core value of Lakasa, that is enabling local communities is important step to sustainability.  Our project worked out by choosing local masons to build the school building, giving training to local masons, increasing awareness through mass media, training the local SMC & teachers to push the students for WASH activities andorientation on DRR to teachers andstudents are the measures to bring sustainability. The input of software component is to strengthen the skills of maintenance, provide awareness and tips to use the facilities along with the specification of the agents. This sustainability is measured by measuring the level of action of the school family for better and safer school and the activities of our masons/ community stakeholders who have begun to take their role into the community contributing the building construction and following the guidelines of disaster resistant construction.  This is an exit strategy where the key implementer will leave the project under the hands of community stakeholders by providing them knowledge, skills and ideas.
